I work for a professional stunt company. As part of my role as an animal handler I can be in charge of looking after any animal we have, from horses to poisonous dart frogs to tarantulas to wolfdogs — all of these animals are used for TV, films and photoshoots.
This means feeding, welfare checks, cleaning out stables, walking the wolfdogs, checking all the ‘indoor animals’ and generally keeping them looking good as they could be required for productions at any given moment.
As a professional rider this also includes general day-to-day riding of horses, tailoring their exercises depending on their abilities and age, and stunt doubling on set.
The place I work is also used for filming, so I always keep it clean and tidy — which can be pretty difficult in the winter months!
