There’s a whole world of jobs out there. Jobs you know. Jobs you don’t. And jobs your teachers and other adults have never heard of either.

Use what we have here to explore your options. Take a look at:

  • Interviews with people who do different roles, so they can tell you what they’re really like.
  • Articles that explain the world of work, job descriptions and applying for jobs.
  • Links to the National Careers Service, so you can find summaries of hundreds of jobs we haven’t featured yet.

Start exploring and see what you find. And if you can’t find what you need, let us know.

Helpful info
How much does a job pay after tax?

When you click on a job, you’ll see an average salary. But this isn’t the amount you’d get in your bank account every year. That’s because the government takes away a chunk of everyone’s money to pay for taxes. This calculator will help you figure out how much money you'll get after tax.

What are equivalent qualifications?

For some jobs, you’ll need certain qualifications. But lots of jobs also accept ‘equivalent qualifications’. These are qualifications that are worth the same but have different names and ways to earn them. This chart will help you compare different qualifications to see which match up.
